I was invited to teach on the South Island of New Zealand in the fall of 2024 and couldn’t resist capturing one of NZ most iconic and lovely sounding birds on this fun jacket, along with the iconic Christmas Tree, the Pōhutukawa.

The yarn couching technique was used as well as adding bits of “eyelash” yarn to capture the odd neck feathers of this bird that sounds like a cross between a bell and a droid straight out of Star Wars.
