Morrigan Crow 2025

I discovered this lavender metallic blazer at a Pennsylvania thrift store in the mountains while traveling and was astonished it had *apparently* been lingering for over a year.  Why anyone would not LOVE a metallic purple jacket I can’t imagine.  I decided to do a halloween-ish jacket and take pictures in a very old graveyard in Easton, Pa, featuring lovely crypts.  This crow image is a close match to another yarn couching upholstered plaque I did several years ago (Nightwatch), and features iridescent yarns and depth given to the black bird through a range of colors meant to capture the oily rainbow shades of a raven.

This raven is blind as it represents the Celtic Goddess, the Morrigan, the chooser of the slain.  She has found a broken necklace featuring a real carved pearl skull, as one does as a raven.
