I’m not sure there is anything funnier and more colorful than a flock of Budgies…Parakeets to a lot of us.  They have a big range of natural colors, but this set of quilt blocks is just crying for playing with color and texture.  Included in this pattern are four birds, in two sizes each, and in left and right orientations, for each.  The patterns are designed for the foundation piecing method of your choice.  I prefer the freezer paper method.  Enjoy a quick tutorial below.  This pattern is the paper piecing patterns only, and requires you to already know how to paper/ foundation piece.  All foundation methods appear in reverse of the finished block. No additional instructions are given.  It is highly recommended you print by page, after choosing which sizes and orientation to print. Many of the birds use two pieces of paper, and with 16 possible bird orientations…”print all” will waste a lot of your time, paper, and supplies.

The pattern includes two possible layouts in graphic form only, a stick of rainbow birds, and the layout for a 52 bird quilt, duplicating the 2022 budgie temperature quilt I am creating.
